Police ride along scheme
Last Thursday evening (6th Dec) I accompanied PC Aubrey patrolling Highfield in order to check out how the Police serve the area. It was raining so we spent a lot of time in the car. I was impressed with her dedication to the job and her down to earth attitude. PC Aubrey’s patch includes Adeyfield and St Pauls as well as Highfield.
I was out with the Katie, the PCSO for Highfield (Police Community Support Officer) on Tuesday 11th. It has become clear to me how her job differs from PC Aubrey’s. Katie spends a lot of her time out on the streets being the eyes & ears of the police, making house calls and preventing anti-social behaviour.
I found my trips out with the two officers for Highfield very interesting and informative. I hope to use what I learned in my roll as councillor to benefit the Highfield community.
