Problems with the Council’s Annual Accounts
The Liberal Democrats refused to support the Council’s annual accounts because they found out the figures are likely to be challenged by the auditors. Despite potential problems with the figures Labour and the Tories voted the accounts through.
During the meeting Cllr Lloyd Harris said “During the Audit Committee it was suggested that the external Auditors may again take issue with the valuation of housing stock. As a result, he asked how members could have confidence in the accounts.”
